Aligning with Spiritual Will
Say each thought lovingly to yourself & watch magical things begin to happen:
Expand your awareness with wonderful words: numen \NOO-min\, noun: Divine power.
I am sure you have heard of free will, but did you know that free will actually perpetuates the illusion of separation? We are all one. Within the oneness there is only one will – Spiritual will. When we are in alignment with God’s will things flow easily and effortlessly in our life. Attachment to good and bad dissolve and we become aware that experiences come and go to help us evolve. With this knowledge we sustain a faith and belief that can move mountains and we attain numen, Divine power. When we choose free will many times there is struggle and a feeling of disconnection. Free will is part of the third dimension of fear. It functions within the ego mind. Spiritual will is a higher dimensional frequency and accesses the wisdom of our Spiritual self.
The goal, if you will, is to be in alignment with the will of our Spiritual self vs. the will of our Human self. And so, you may be asking yourself, “How the heck do I do that?”
And remember, if you hear, see or feel it three times ~Pay Attention~ it means the Universe is speaking to you.
How do you stay in the flow?

Julie, My intention is to live my life by following my intuition, which to me is the same as following God’s will to the best of my ability. I so appreciate the healing which appears to be embedded in your posts. And I have a new word, numen, thank you!
I had never thought of ‘free will’ the way you described it. To think that this is a part of our third dimension of fear. I know what I want, and it’s Divine Will. I’ve been following my intuition and it’s becoming a huge part of my life lately. Beautiful post.
Thanks Suzanne.
“When we are in alignment with God’s will things flow easily and effortlessly in our life. ”
I so resonate with this. I constantly tell myself “not my will.” Its a signal to me that life flows according to a higher order, God’s or the universes will. When I am struggling with how something is unfolding or how someone is acting or an event has occured that I simply can not understand I will often say “not my will.” It is liberating + a reminder that there are many things out of my control + that all will work out the way it is supposed too. Thank you for this reminder Julie! xx
Beautiful post, Julie – I’ve never quite thought of it this way before – as an astrologer and tarot reader I often remind people that they are not run by their charts, but they have free will to make choices and changes in their lives.
I think what you are referring to is another important spiritual principle, however, that of…surrender!!! So true and not always to easy to do – for me what works is journaling, chanting, praying…
Whenever I am feeling lost or afraid I do a few things.
1) I take a deep breath
2) I place my hand over my heart
3) I ask that whatever it is I am deciding on or afraid become clear and only serve my “highest and best intention”
4) I hold my hand over my heart and continue my breaths until I feel peace.
It has always served me well.
Very nice. Thanks for sharing Pam!
Absolutely love this, Julie. I have never thought of free will in that way before and as soon as I read that… it clicked. YES. Amazingly enough, I read this exactly when I need to be affirming to myself: I am a spiritual being having a human experience.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom. xo
Julie, I’ve never really thought of “free will” in this way before, but you’ve articulated it so well! And what you say strikes me deeply as Truth!
I am working harder on doing my daily affirmations and truly “feeling” them and believing in them!! thank you for these!
Oh my. You so eloquently put into words EXACTLY (no, I mean it – exactly) what I know to be true.
I struggle so hard with Thy Will Be Done – but I nevertheless I pray it every day. I’m a total control freak, and don’t like it when things don’t go “my” way – but I know deep in my soul that God’s way is the only way. When I let go and let Him, it all goes so smoothly.
I especially resonate with “I am a spiritual being having a human experience.” It remind me of one of my favorite song lyrics by Alexi Murdoch: “I’m just a spirit trying to be human.” You are right that how people think of “free will” often leads to separation instead of connection.
Lately I am asking “show me where you want me”a lot.. or similar versions of that question… I also listen carefully to my guidance and have practiced trusting it for many years. My prayers are much more asking to be guided these days.. it’s comforting.
Love,
Lisa
Thanks Julie,
For me I think it is easy to believe if you have free wheel you are somehow in control and I agree that it creates a sense of separation. I love the idea of numen, even the way it sounds is comforting. When we align with Divine Power and listen and go with the flow we always move in the direction of our highest good.
This is an important post Julie and I’d love to hear your personal story of how you stay in the flow. I’m in the process of writing a piece for a book called Inspired Voices, True Stories by Visionary Women and I’m attending closely to the flow through the physical (or human) – the dance between heart calling and thought acting. I also have many daily disciplines that keep me aligned including prayer, yoga, and my life work, journaling!
I’d love to connect more with you Karen, your book sounds very exciting.
Oh yes 3x I love that you remind me of that… this post lit me up from the inside out…love your work : )
This is a lovely and comforting post. I don’t disagree with it, but I find myself in a doubting place sometimes — doubting the universal “one” when terrible, tragic things happen. Can’t the terrible, tragic things be the result of free will gone wrong? How do you reconcile that?
I agree it’s difficult not to label things as “terrible/tragic” but such is our attachment to good and bad. The Dali Lama invites us to let go of things being good or bad and move into a state where things just “are.” When we say “terrible/tragic” it gives the experience a different energy and contributes to the idea of terrible/tragic. If we can say ___ happened and move into love and compassion our power to heal kicks in thus raising us up out of terrible/tragic and instead of keeping us stuck in it. Easier said than done.
I am really big on Thy Will Be Done. Its the opening and the closing to all my prayers and ritual work-I think it can ground us like nothing else!
