Dissolving the Ego
Welcome to Channeling: Messages from Muhammad. Our topic today is
“I am losing my eyesight and afraid of not seeing.”
Holly: When I cannot see to read or focus, I find it really, really hard not to be in fear and doubt. I really am struggling to stay in alignment under those circumstances. Could you give me some suggestions?
Muhammad: Tell us what your deepest fear is.
Holly: Not being able to see. Right now even, when I cannot see well, it seems to affect my thinking and my ability to do things, find things, whatever, to misinterpret what I am seeing.
Muhammad: Yes. You believe that the quality of your life is less if you cannot see.
Holly: I think that’s probably what I believe. I know that isn’t necessarily true. I know that it does mean change and maybe I’m more afraid of the change because I don’t know what that all would entail.
Muhammad: Tell us how you try to move yourself back into alignment.
Holly: Well, I try to meditate. I talk to people. I try to read things that tend to focus me back on that track. But mostly lately I’ve been trying to breathe and be present in the moment and to say positive things to myself, reminding myself that change is okay, that there are many ways to see. Mostly that.
Muhammad: Yes. Our emotions are indicators that we are out of alignment, so you become aware of how you are feeling. You become aware that you are fearful. It is in your awareness that you have a choice. You can move yourself back into alignment or you can allow your ego to keep you hostage in your fear. Now we are not recommending or suggesting that emotions do not have value because they definitely do. It is the number one way that we experience the Earth. But the veils are thinning and we have more possibilities, more options.
You are more open-minded, more trusting and accepting of the truth. It is simply reminding yourself that you are eternal, expansive, harmonious, light-filled, unconditional love whether you have a body, whether you have legs, whether you have ears or eyes. This is the nature of your being. This is who you are. This is truth.
Your ego works very hard to have you believe otherwise. Your ego convinces you that you are separate. Your ego feeds doubt into your mind. When you become aware that your ego is trying to convince you that you may not see but actually that’s not the reality in this moment. There is only this moment. We are glad to hear that you are using the practice of mindfulness because the ego’s power lies in dragging you into the past or obsessing about the future. The ego has no power in this moment.
The nature of your being, the truth, is always in this moment. It is remembering that in this moment I can see. In this moment I am eternal, expansive, love-filled, light, harmony. When you can allow yourself to revel in that truth, you raise your vibrational frequency and the fear of the ego begins to dissolve. The next time the fear arises, immediately you will catch yourself and you will say, “Oh no, that is a lie because right now, in this moment, I see.”
Eventually the ego, the voice of fear and doubt will dissolve because you have stopped giving it your attention anymore. When you give your attention to your fear, “oh my God, oh my God, oh my God”, you feed it and it grows stronger, becomes more powerful and then you make up stories to support it. But when you remember and you remind your ego that is not my reality, that is not my truth, you are false, then the ego dissolves.
That power is gone. Then the ego is just what it is. Your ego. The fear may come and stay a moment and leave again. The stronger and firmer you are in the nature of your being, the reality, the truth of who you really are, the easier and easier it becomes. Yes.

Ooh, from fear to comfort. Mmm. This is such a fascinating gift you have! How long have you been channeling? How did you get into it?
I began to develop my skills as a medium when my father passed 17 years ago and got into channeling in about 2008. A friend loaned me a program she had on Esther Hicks who channels Abraham and I was enthralled. I channeled Muhammad regularly in a closed group for 1 year and then opened it up to the public on 11/11/11. It’s been an exciting adventure and I believe everyone can do this. Lovely progression from fear to comfort with Holly and allowing the expression of feelings to release the fear.

Awesome Julie. I’m fairly new to channelling but am aware for the work of Esther Hicks — so I’m not completely in the dark. What a great way to comfort a person living in fear. I must admit that losing one’s sight in a world for sighted people must be terrifying. But, as you pointed out, this is fear jockying for position. The truth is we are all whole sighted or otherwise. Thanks for this!
Julie, thank you for sharing the channeling-fascinating! What the message says to me is, accept your emotions. (“You become aware that you are fearful.”) And then use whatever methods allow you to let the negative feelings go . (” It is in your awareness that you have a choice.”)
Fear is the mind killer…that quote from Dune sticks in my mind. I have been on this incredible journey to let go of Fear, but of those things I identify I must also embrace the unknown fearlessly, thank you for that reminder.
For me, this sensual physical pathway is the doorway to the spiritual. All of these emotions, even the difficult ones, inform our every choice. Keeping the physical experience in tune with the spiritual vibration is a constant and beautifully rewarding effort.

For me, being mindful has been allowing myself to feel emotion, even negative emotion completely. If I allow myself to feel sadness and anger then I’m less likely to allow them to hold me hostage. Be sad, be mad, and then move on.
