Intuition: 3 Easy Steps to Hearing Spirit

Say each thought lovingly to yourself every day and watch magical things begin to happen:

♥  Every day my inner voice becomes louder and clearer.
♥  I am divinely guided through every experience of my life.
♥  I intuitively know what I need to do in each moment.

 

Expand your awareness with wonderful words:

 perspicacious \pur-spi-KEY-shuhs\, adjective:
1. Having keen mental perception and understanding; discerning.
2. Archaic. Having keen vision.

There is a still, small voice within us all.  It is constantly guiding us giving us insight and inspiration, leading us to our highest expression of our self.  Intuition or psychic abilities isn’t something only gifted people have, it’s something we were all born with and given a little practice or awareness you can develop it into a real, tangible technique to steer your life in the right direction.  Here are just a few tips to get you started:

  1. Meditate – Meditation is the gateway to perception and awareness.  Simply ask your question or write it down on a piece of paper.  Focus on your breathing for 10 minutes.  Then ask your question again and listen for any words, phrases, feelings, colors or images.  It may appear immediately or it may appear later that day while you’re walking the dog or talking to your friend.  Often times it’s like playing charades.  Spirit isn’t always going to just give you a simple answer.
  2. Feelings  – Your feelings are your emotional guidance system, your internal GPS.  They let you know when you are on track and in alignment and when you are lost and out of alignment. When you are off track take a moment to check in with yourself and ask, “How can I move back into peace & harmony?”  Is there someone I need to forgive?  Am I subconsciously getting caught up in fear or lack?  Then take a moment to call in the white light and align with love again.  Remember:  A miracle can simply be a shift in perception.
  3. Monkey Mind – Constant mind chatter drowns out your inner voice.  Throughout my day as I begin feeling busy and overwhelm kicks in I quietly say to my self, “Peace be still.”  Then I envision a beautiful cocoon of love and peace enveloping me.  Then a voice reminds me, “Whatever you accomplish today is exactly what you are suppose to accomplish.  Nothing more, nothing less.”

If you follow these three simple steps and become more aware, more perspicacious you will begin to develop your intuitive skills that will keep you on track and in alignment with the true nature of your being; expansive, loving and harmonious.

And remember, if you hear, see or feel it three times ~Pay Attention~ it means the Universe is speaking to you.

    This is such a simple but great post – yes, meditation is the key. But now you have me scheming on how I can use perspicacious in a sentence this week! LOL

    Thanks Theresa. That just gave me a great idea! I should create a contest where people use the word of the month in a sentence. I used to be an English teacher so I’m all about expanding your vocabulary. lol

    I was thinking the same thing as Theresa!!! I actually used to read through the dictionary and the thesaurus as a child, just because I loved learning new words and connecting them with their synonyms and antonyms! (shhh, don’t tell anyone! ;-))

    This: “And remember, if you hear, see or feel it three times ~Pay Attention~ it means the Universe is speaking to you.” was my fave part of the entire post. I wonder at times when something is actually a sign. I think for the most part I just *know* when it’s meant as something meaningful for me… but this gives me something else to consider… Super cool!

    This is great advice and I like the simple, lucid steps you lay out here. For me the feeling part is really important in this process-you want to acknowledge those feelings because in some cases that is the only way not to be ruled by them!

    Julie, I love these and also the words “peace be still”.. used to use that as a soothing mantra also and forgot about it but will use it again.. those words have powerful energies. I named my business Intuitive Body because I so believed in the wisdom of the feeling-guidance that we get via our body’s knowing.. you and I are very much aligned with all of this.. Great reading.

    Julie, my favourite :”A miracle can simply be a shift in perception.” and I’ve often wondered why I tend to write three phrases in a sentence-fascinating! I wonder if there’s a connection.

    re: feelings … your words are spot on!

    I have been able to hear myself so much better when I don’t resist what I am feeling. Just l last week, an incident happened that genuinely upset me and rightly so. I was actually driving at the time so I just pulled over and let myself feel the frustration, the anger and the upsetness. I just embraced it and as I did, my mind settled in and talked me through it. Within five minutes, I had come through on the other side with some clear thoughts about how to proceed.

    Intuition was my word for the week and now I’ve come across your post about it. At the moment I’m learning to distinct intuition from Monkey Mind. Meditation is the key to quiet your mind.
    I write down my intuitive thoughts and events following them, so I can see the pattern, usually when my Higher Self is talking the thought repeats several times and there is a sense of calmness and certainty.

    I’m all about paying attention to your feelings and listening to your inner guidance….and right now I’m experiencing how my monkey mind can disconnect me from both!

    I will have to try your Mantra’s specially for the overactive monkey mind. That is one of my biggest walls i have. Nothing like a mind that wont shut up when your trying to unwinded form the daily grind.

      And the wise sage would say…the goal of meditation is not to stop thinking but to become aware of your thoughts and learn how to disengage. I tell people to imagine your thoughts are on a train passing through: “Oh, I have to stop and pick up milk. I have to stop and get gas. I should call my mother…” Just allow that train to keep going without jumping on board. Jumping on board would look like… “Oh, I have to stop and pick up milk and while I’m there I should get burger and I wonder if Marcus wants to have dinner with us etc.” Not jumping on board would look like: “Yes, I have to stop and pick up milk.” And then let that thought pass right on through.
